The Senegalese Energy Minister is open to renewable energies!
On 31 March the Senegalese State President Macky Sall visited the Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel with a governmental and parliamentary delegation from his country. Within this setting SenGermany organized a meeting between Mrs. Maïmouna Ndoye Seck, Senegal's Minister for Energy and Dr. Günther Horzetzky, State Secretary at the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Industry, SMEs and Craft Trade.
It all started on 8 November 2013 on the occasion of the 1st German-Senegalese Economic Summit in Düsseldorf. The Energy Minister expressed her wish to be present, but had only just been appointed as a new member of the Senegalese government, and did not come to Düsseldorf due to the numerous projects waiting for her on her desk.

A warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere, a clear presentation and exact figures.
80 persons took part in the Economic Conference, which was organized by the Afrika-Verein (foreign trade association for German enterprises and institutions with economic interests in African states) in the KfW (the reconstruction and credit institution and a German government-owned development Bank) premises in Berlin on 1 April 2014 on the occasion of the visit paid by Senegal's Head of State Macky Sall.
On 19 February 2014 His Excellency Mr. El Hadj Aziz Ndiaye, the new Ambassador of Senegal, was accredited.
Berlin is no unknown territory for the new Ambassador, who shall prepare the first official visit of President Macky Sall.
The Ambassador El Hadj Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye presented his letter of credence to the Federal President Joachim Gauck on 19 February 2014, and thus replaced his predecessor, the Ambassador Henri Antoine Turpin, who after three years' residence in Berlin retired in late December 2013.
Following an invitation from the Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, the State President Macky Sall will - after the Bundestag elections of 22 September 2013 – be the first African Head of State paying an official visit to Germany on 31 March 2014.
After one year existence…SenGermany open to a new challenge!
Who would have believed that! On 17 November 2013 SenGermany was only one year old.
This year we could not imagine a better gift than the successfully implemented 1st German-Senegalese Economic Summit of 8 November. Since all participants congratulated us, we remain open to new challenges in the year 2014.
We called for the 1st German-Senegalese Economic Summit and participants, who had never heard about us before, came with own resources. What a joy to see this highly motivated and well prepared delegation of entrepreneurs from Senegal! On 8 November 20 professionals from the sectors energy, agriculture, mining and building trade met German partners in Düsseldorf. But, first of all, the Economic Affairs Ministry of North Rhine-Westphalia had to be convinced. Because without the Ministry's support this event would be unthinkable to such extent. Then, the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry & Commerce and NRW.International came on board. With these three sponsors and partners the foundations were set for the first international event of SenGermany. Thereafter experts were persuaded to hold the specialist lectures and no less than 25 telephone conferences were organized partially twice a week and until three days before the Economic Summit, in order to guarantee a successful outcome. Why so much work? Because all members are working hard and performed these tasks in an honorary capacity. Just imagine you would exercise this activity as a full-time job!
The ball is now in the playing field of the German and Senegalese entrepreneurs, whom we brought together, hoping that this meeting will give rise to long-term partnerships. We will of course continue working to ensure that German entrepreneurs will discover the West-African market via Senegal.
In 2014 we go on with new challenges.

In the last 14 days SenGermany visited the Ambassador Bernhard Kampmann twice: on 14 August and on 21 August. First in his office in Dakar and thereafter in Berlin, when he paid a first visit to the Senegalese Ambassador Henri Antoine Turpin himself.
